San Jacinto

June 08, 2008 | San Jacinto

I took this shot on my way home from the Fred Hartman Bridge. I've never feared for my life taking a photograph before, but I was attacked by a pack of mosquitoes here that were either trying to carry me away or steal my camera.

For those non-Texans out there, this is the San Jacinto Monument. This marks the location of the Battle of San Jacinto which would be the decisive battle of the Texas Revolution.

The orange sky, by the way, is caused by the lights of the oil refineries located on the nearby Houston Ship Channel.
